Arrested Development
Hold Her Head High: TwixforBats (pre-series gen)
Funny and in-character story of Lindsay introducing baby Maeby to her uncles. Some paragraph formatting issues.
Cormoran Strike series
Tokens of Affection: spiral tree (post book 3 Cormoran/Robin, Robin/Matthew)
Pitch perfect tone. I'm a sucker for gift-giving in fic, and this is a lovely treatment of it.
The Dark Knight Rises
how the cat caught the bat: thefireplanet
I liked the lightness of touch shown here, this is far more light-hearted than the usual TDKR fare - the banter, the wrongfooting and the teamwork that just make the cat and the bat work. I was grinning by the end of it.
Disney Princesses
Four Things that Weren’t Covered Adequately in Mulan’s R.A. Training: NaomiK (gen, AU)
Summary: Mulan is a Resident Assistant on a dormitory floor at a college. Gosh, some of the students on her floor come from really screwed-up families.
This is clever and witty, working well as an updating of the films' set-ups and a commentary on them, plus bonus family-of-choice development!
Enchanted
Before it Breaks: michellek (Giselle/Robert – angst)
While this isn’t the unqualified happy ending I wanted for them (and maybe it all fell apart too quickly?), I found it absorbing to read about their separation and Giselle’s response to it.
Firefly
Touched, or Eight Fragments: lunabee34 (Inara-centric, gen ficlet)
Of course touch would have import for Inara. I love how these fragments of different interactions with Serenity’s crew show the richness of her life and how they all contribute to it.
Harry Potter
Dolores Umbridge: JeffKunze
Fanart that suggests her toadiness very well.
And So: ladylisse (Hermione/Ron, ficlet)
This captures Hermione and the way she thinks and feels about Ron very well.
The Hour
a little bit of your taste in my mouth: voodoochild (Randall/Lix)
Fab ficlet about Randall associating Lix with whiskey.
The Hunger Games
Suppose I Suddenly Screamed: ssstrychnine (Effie-centric Effie/Haymitch M for canonical themes, spoilers for everything)
Does a great job taking us along on a journey with Effie and building the backstory between her and Haymitch. A few SPaG errors
Jupiter Ascending
Skyfall: cupidsbow (Jupiter/Caine)
The scale of song and movie are well-matched in this fanvid.
Steady On: Frea_O (gen)
A nice moment between Jupiter and Tsing, with a particularly good Jupiter voice. (Jupiter/Tsing friendly, although Caine is on the scene.)
