Winter recs (2/3)

shallownessI thought this batch of recs would be done in two posts, but it's been so long in the doing that the list has grown. And I'm aware that with everyone gearing up for Christmas/Yuletide, it's far from brilliant timing. Fanfiction and fanvid recs in the following fandoms: Alice (Sy-Fy), Community, Cormoran Strike, Dead Like Me, Firefly, Gotham and Harry Potter.
Alice (Sy-Fy)
Phantomwise: Fahye (long, teen, Alice/Hatter, Jack/Duchess)
This was wonderful, both the exploration of a relationship via an adventure and the richly imagined 'what happened next' for Wonderland and its inhabitants. I loved the satisfying, unexpected descriptions, and Alice's realisations.
Community
I tried to be chill (but you're so hot that I melted): dollsome (Jeff/Annie, spoilers for season 1)
Jeff and Annie versus the epic Awkward Silence. This was beautiful and made me laugh out loud a lot.
Cormoran Strike

Fun fill for my prompt of ‘Robin Ellacott & or / Cormoran Strike, they get tickets to a West End show for solving a case’
Dead Like Me
So Sad, So Lonely: turquoisetumult (gen, rated, but I'd put it at teen myself)
This vid is a great portrait of Mason and, as another commentator said, his brand of mess. Features quick cuts that work well with the energy of the song.
Firefly
Under the Tejan Sun: ninamonkey (Wash/Zoe, pre-series, teen, longish)
'When the shuttle breaks down Zoë and Wash have to figure a way of gettin’ it fixed…without killing each other first.'
I really enjoyed reading this. Great, layered characterisation.
Gotham
Wicked Game: DJC Productions (Bruce/Selina, spoilers up til early season 4.)
Epic. This fanvid lays out the story of these two kids and all the feels between them gorgeously. (Contains dialogue if that’s not your thing, but I think the balance with the song works well.)
Harry Potter
Untitled drabble: nagi_schwarz (written for my prompt of ‘Harry Potter, the difference between a Muggle sight test and a wizarding one,’
This is smashing, if you’ll excuse the pun.
