shallownessI finally caught up with the 2014 continuations of the LBD verse. (Scroll down to the bottom here.) It had been long enough that I’d missed Ricky Collins and his verbiage, and three minutes was just about enough for the switching back and for camera POVs to be amusing. (But the best of Ricky Collins came when he was sitting next to Lydia.)
Doctor Gardener’s seminar – again, nice to catch-up with Lizzie. Gratuitous plug for the book was gratuitous. Amusing that most of the questions were about her love life. And consistent. I liked that she confronted the boundaries of carrying out a relationship on vids. Loved the callback to headless Darcy.
I presume that award was the (well-deserved, because LBD was/is a phenomenon) Emmy.
Bonus 2 – Awwwww. The ‘determined to hate you’ quote, and the ‘next year’ and the ‘next year...’, and the pretty convincing at being a couple body language and behaviour and the prospect of relatively easily being able to dip back into these characters’ lives.
I see that the people behind LDB have made other shows, although none of them appeal hugely - I’ve read and disliked the ‘completed’ book of Sanditon, haven’t read Frankenstein, and Emma Approved would have to battle with my love for Clueless and that Emma is far from my favourite Austen novel.
