I just read an excellent fic that I would rec here, but it's locked to AO3 users, so it felt pointless because of the caveat, but then I thought I could post a link to my AO3 bookmarks, if you want to have a look at all that I've bookmarked there, as it will likely get updated before I do my next recs post. And if you look for 'Favorite Stories' here, you'll find the equivalent on ff.net.

I finally caught up with the 2014 continuations of the LBD verse. (Scroll down to the bottom here.)
( Thoughts )
I see that the people behind LDB have made other shows, although none of them appeal hugely - I’ve read and disliked the ‘completed’ book of Sanditon, haven’t read Frankenstein, and Emma Approved would have to battle with my love for Clueless and that Emma is far from my favourite Austen novel.

End of an era - AoJE
Oct. 19th, 2014 09:04 amSo, without my meaning for it to happen, it became months since I last watched an episode of The Autobiography of Jane Eyre. Perhaps I prefer catching up with webseries rather than watching them live, never mind the transmedia of it all. Last night, because ITV’s Player wouldn’t work (it’s the most convoluted of the players) and I wanted something a little more cosy than BtVS, I finally got around to watching the final episodes of AoJE
( Episodes 92 to 95 )
EDIT: If you want to watch The Autobiography of Jane Eyre, go here for the videos and Storified stuff.

Snapshot of shipping now
Sep. 4th, 2014 08:53 amI saw an lj friending meme in passing recently – I didn’t take part, mainly because of my issues of which spoilerphobia is but one. You were meant to present general information about yourself, what TV shows, films, books etc you were interested in and also which ships you were into. I have to admit that that’s where my eyes fell when looking at other people’s answers, because it’s all very well liking the same shows, but someone might well be into a ship that I have zero interest in/am opposed to/don’t see. Ahem.
But I did wonder how I’d accurately represent the ships I’m into at the moment.
( What follows is an attempt. )

AND THEN YouTube cannily promoted ‘Classic Alice’ on the side of one of those videos, and I was intrigued.
Episode 1 is entitled Down the Rabbit Hole. While not based on a specific novel, it’s a transmedia-ish metatextual high-concept fictional vlog. Or something. It had the equivalent of footnotes. I’m doomed.
Spoilers from the prequels to episode 3

The narrative (with vids, Tumblr posts, tweets and pictures) is here although it’s not exhaustive. The Classic Alice ENTIRETY! playlist seems to have all the vids.

Weekend bookends?
May. 12th, 2014 07:42 amAs you can see below, I've caught up somewhat on bits and bobs, but I spent the weekend without the internet, so I'm way behind. (Actually, the only shows I'm all caught up on are Revenge and The Good Wife to go from one extreme of quality to the other.)
B99 - 1.16 The Party

Apr. 13th, 2014 08:31 amIt’s been a while, so I had plenty to catch up on yesterday, when, as it happened, the latest episode was posted, so I’m bang up to date.

Stop smiling
Mar. 19th, 2014 07:56 amI now have a list of shows to catch up on and The Mentalist is on it. Came home too late for it last night and my tired brain was capable only of watching the following:

In short, I think they’re handling the Rivers better than the Reeds. Also, I refer to what happens next in the books when discussing episodes.
( In greater detail )
Then there was only one episode left and I’d be caught up, but I had to switch off the computer, so I never got caught up. I almost don’t want to, because then I’d be watching live and that would be new and weird.
