Your main fandom of the year

I’m too multifandom for there to be one answer – readingwise Avengers and Harry Potter, but because I dabbled in so many corners of both fandoms as a reader, I didn’t feel like I was very deeply IN either.

Writingwise, it’s still Sky High.

I watched DVDs in preparation for going to see Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises. The Bourne Legacy and The Hobbit repeatedly.

TV – I was most obsessive about Strictly and I’ve had years where I cared more.

The Artist, by a squeak.

Your favorite book read this year

A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner

I had to catch up with the other books before reading this. Toe-curlingly intricate.

Your favorite album or song to listen to this year

Wildest Moment by Jessie Ware for song and for album either Devotion by her or Co-exist by The XX.

Your favorite TV show of the year

I rated The Scapegoat, The Bletchley Circle, Sherlock series 2 (improvements on several fronts), The Hour (possibly even more good looking than Downton), Borgen and The Good Wife. I fell in love with Once Upon a Time because of Emma and Henry, Snow White and Prince Charming, Belle and ‘Skin Deep’. All the faults didn’t matter.

The ones I want to own are The Scapegoat and OUAT, if that means anything.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year

The Hunger Games. I knew about the books before this year, but decided not to read them, and I’m a movies fangirl. Once Upon a Time – Emma and Henry had me hooked and ‘Skin Deep was a TV high point.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year

I was disappointed that despite Selina and the many other things it did right TDKR didn’t live up to the first two Nolanverse films. Downton Abbey teased me that the third series would be an improvement on the second – it wasn’t, and apart from the thing that gave me rage, I was disappointed in how my favourite character was written.

Your fandom boyfriend of the year

I’d like to thank Chris Evans, Karl Urban, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender Urban for continuing to be hot in the movies.

Bruce Wayne is still my superhero boyfriend, but Steve Rogers was the heart of Avengers Assemble (when it wasn’t Coulson, Natasha, Bruce or..never mind.)

Nick Weschler as Jack Porter had the voice of the year, but I still yell more declarations of love to Kimball Cho than any other character on TV.

The goodie in The Scapegoat...

I may also have developed a crush on Paralympian commentator/expert Giles Long because of his perniteckiness, cemented when I learned that he came up with the Lexi system of explaining classifications.

Your fandom girlfriend of the year

I’m still going steady with Teresa Lisbon, but there was also Emma Swan and Lix Storm (and Zoe Morgan, for that matter.) Moviewise: Natasha Romanov (who didn’t make that much of an impression on me in IM2) and Nolanverse’s Selina Kyle.

Your biggest squee moment of the year

OUAT’s Skin Deep, every time what I guessed would happen in TDKR happened, a lot about Community season 2, but watching the Christmas episode a few days after Christmas in particular.

The most missed of your old fandoms

I’m really bad at letting things go, but I am done with Bones having watched season 3 on DVD (several years after it aired). I am lowering my expectations RE Downton Abbey, but I’m not giving up the hats

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to

Parks and Rec is coming to UK TV (finally). Also, I'm starting to think I should give The Lizzie Bennet Diaries a go.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year

TV - Borgen is back and I’m looking forward to the next series of The Good Wife. I don’t know if we’ll get Sherlock, but I hope there’s more of The Bletchley Circle.

Films - All the solo Avenger movies, the Hobbit 2, The Wolverine (although I should know better), Star Trek 2, Pacific Rim...I’m too lazy to find Total Film to get all my picks of its preview.

The news that there will be a Black Widow movie

Community season 3 airing on a channel I get or on DVD. Likewise the new series of Arrested Development.

I’m also really looking forward to festivids and halfamoon.
