shallowness: Side profile of BTVS's Tara looking upwards with text reading 'grace notes' above (Dark Tara grace notes)
I was saddened to learn yesterday of Michelle Trachtenberg’s passing at only 39. I hadn’t watched Gossip Girl, so she’s always been frozen as Dawn, the youngest Scoobie, in my mind. And now, if the Buffy reboot ever gets off the ground, she won't be able to be a part of it in any capacity. But obviously for the people who knew and loved her, the loss is greatest.

The AO3 meme, as seen at [dreamwidth.org profile] musesfool

1. Most Hits: Comprehension Mansfield Park - Jane Austen, Henry Crafword/Fanny Price. His marriage and his sister's wedding help Henry to see more. 9,685 hits. Still absolutely the fic that I've written that's had the most impact.

2. Second Most Kudos: Extreme Action Sky High (2005), Warren Peace/Layla Williams. Fake-out make-out. (Layla’s idea.) 591 kudos. The film is 20 years old! Must rewatch this year.

3. Third Most Comments: As above. 22 comments.

4. Fourth Most Bookmarks:
When we were strangers (or five ways Layla and Warren never met)
Sky High (2005), Warren Peace/Layla Williams. Five ways Layla and Warren never met. 42 bookmarks.

5. Fifth Most Words: Be Careful…Always Dark Angel, Max Guevara/Alec McDowell. Two phrases. Two speakers. Different universes. 3.577 words (for me, that’s unthinkable these days.)

6. Fic With Fewest Words:
distance in your eyes Dark Angel, Logan Cale/Max Guevara, 51 words (it’s poetry!)

Aaand that reminds me that I still have fic that I need to repost here and at AO3, and before that I should probably post my three-sentence fills, none of which are over 3,500 words.
shallowness: Kira in civvies looking straight ahead (Default)
Monday was a bank holiday, so I reposted a fic: Career Day, Sky High, G. Magenta, Layla, Warren, Larry, Zach. Canon pairings, Warren/Layla implied. Magenta’s POV. 2,348 words. Summary: ‘Plan for a Super Tomorrow…Today!’ Magenta-style. (February 2007)

I added a clause for clarification and deleted a couple of spaces. In the notes from 2007, I had written, ‘This is another case of a ficlet becoming something longer.’ Now I’m boggling at the ‘another case’. As it’s over 2,000 words, I’m delighted this will bump up my word count average on AO3. Rereading it, I was pretty happy with it, as I think I used Magenta’s POV effectively, although I suppose my notes don’t reflect how important Magenta and Layla’s friendship is to the fic, but I was able to add a tag for that at AO3.

Also, I watched Fallout 1.1 The End

Over the weekend, if one uses 'weekend' loosely, I posted Neither Here nor There (Gotham, future fic, Bruce/OFC, Bruce/Selina), which I wrote and edited alongside 'The Business of Walking', although I first started writing ‘Neither…’ later. Read more... )

I then posted two drabbles In Her Element (Sky High, Warren/Layla) and I Love You in MPH (ER, Neela/Ray). Both came to mind and were written quite soon after seeing the prompts. Read more... )

In the midst of all that, I came across a casting spoiler that ought to bump Gotham higher up the catch-up queue. But the only show I talk about here I've kept up with watching live is Ghosts, because it's on a Monday night and only thirtyish minutes long.

Traitors 1/8

2019 has been a wasteland of TV dramas I wanted to watch so far, so I perked up when I heard about this: a spy show set in post-war London. Now, I’ve seen it, I’m less enthused. spoilers )

I posted five ficlets yesterday: Doc Brown’s [Sky High, Medulla]/Career Pathway [Harry Potter, Luna, Flitwick]/The Pop-up Shop [Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, Mahoney]/”Hello?” [MCU, Darcy]/Still Learning [X-Men Alternate Timeline Movies, Hank] - here.

They were written during January, and are in movie fandoms (well, the Harry Potter one is more book canon). Four are definitely gen and one a bit cracky. Three were fills for ‘any, any’ prompts, which is all on my brain. One fandom was new, in that I wrote X-Men alternate movie timeline fic – I have strong feelings that there are many subtexts to the X-Men, and I suppose the newer movies are better at bringing out race and disability issues. I wrote that one at the start of the month and can’t remember where the OCs’ names came from. That and the Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium one have been posted at ff.net and AO3.

The ficathon closes at the end of the month, but I don't think I'll be looking up any more prompts. So, for completeness's sake:
