Many from the recent Yuletide, but not all.
Borgen
There Is a Lovely Land: yeats Birgitte/Philip, pre-series (season 1 compliant)
What I love about this fic is it’s as much about the love story between Birgitte and her country as the story of the beginning of Birgitte/Philip’s.
Birgitte In the Kitchen, with Ice Cream: fictorium (gen, set between s1 and s2)
This could be a scene between Katrine and Birgitte on the show. Fascinating and well-charecterised.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Family Motto: ljs Giles/Anya strong teen
Delicious ficlet that's funny, sad and hot, which is appropriate for these two.
Community
el tango de sexual tension: dollsome Britta/Troy UST, the gang ficlet (no spoilers beyond s1)
Marvellous and very funny.
Crazy Stupid Love
Five Things Cal Taught Jacob: atheilen Jacob/Hannah, Cal/Emily, Jacob & Cal (Jacob & the Weaver family, actually)
Very fluffy, but adorable ‘what happened next’ (and the dialogue rings true)
Dredd (2012)
Just A Regular, Bonafide Badass: wicked true Gen. Teen (consider the canon/see notes )
I so badly wanted more Anderson after the film. And here are the next six months in her working life. In which she is awesome.
Haywire
Fairytale Princess: moviesmichelle Gen, Teen (?).
Mallory's life will not be a fairytale and she will not wait for someone to rescue her.
Credible backstory for Mallory that also works as commentary on fairy tales and role models for girls.
Lockout
Some Minor Burglary in Pursuit of a Higher Truth: moemachine Emilie/Snow
This reminds me of what I enjoyed about the film, is driven by Emilie playing to her strengths, plus there’s BANTER.
Measure for Measure
Vigil: lost_spook Isabella/Duke
This is a compelling read, subtle and classy in its characterisation of Isabella. (In the comments, it’s described as a pious happy ending fic, FWIW, which may have been why it resonated with me.)
Sherlock
Way tight: gyzym Molly/Lestrade ER R, sequel to the excellent 'An Avalanche of Detour Signs'
Lovely slice of (an unusual) life about a stupidly happy couple.
Snow White and the Huntsman
all hearts use their own tongues: tosca 1390
Beautiful exploration of Snow's identity and what Eric means to her as she lives with it.
Nameless: thistlerose (Eric-centric, some Eric/Sara, Eric/Snow)
This fic takes the theme of the Huntsman’s apparent namelessness and uses it to tell his tale.
Out from the Woods: Memlu Snow White/Huntsman
Wonderful, rich fic set during the film in the dark forest. Snow White is puzzling out this new world, where she can, must walk, where she is not a child but there is so much she doesn’t know, constantly aware of her guid.
rooted, not adorning: BlackEyedGirl gennish but more Snow/Ericy than the film
This feels like the next step in Snow's continuing adventures. Gorgeous writing.
I hold with those who favour fire: kaydeefalls Snow White/Huntsman Mature
A lovely story about Snow’s growth
Met In Her Aspect And Her Eyes: jedibuttercup Snow/Eric
Very nice job of mixing fairy tale expectations (specifically of a happy ending) with the wilder and bolder aspects of the film especially WRT its portrayal of women.
Say it Clear: mardia Snow/Eric
This is lovely, how we see Snow grow and find her voice and how simple it is between them in the end.
