I’d told myself I was just going to watch the remaining episodes of the series that night, so I resisted finding out what happened next immediately and am savouring thinking things through. Some of the opinions stated above may have changed before I start watching season 2.

Binged BSG by my standards, i.e. I watched three episodes in one night. So, that was You Can’t Go Home Again, Litmus and Six Degrees of Separation, which highlighted the similarities between them.

Sep. 21st, 2020 06:16 pmI posted a ficlet! Old, Forgotten Things (Ghosts (TV) ensemble, gen. Summary: It’s hard to remember things when you’re trying to reunite your head with your body or when Thomas is being really annoying.) I drafted it when I saw the prompt, back in April, when I got the central idea. I’ve kept coming back to it, managing to bring in more and more of the ghosts (sorry, Robin!) Seeing on Saturday that the second series is airing tonight (yay! I may not watch it live but I will watch it) gave me the boost to stop dithering and edit it again with an eye to posting it.
Old, Forgotten Things. Ghosts. Universal. Ensemble. Gen.
Summary: It’s hard to remember things when you’re trying to reunite your head with your body or when Thomas is being really annoying.
955 words. Notes at the end.

I am glad I’m getting the chance to watch it, but I am missing the promotional material that would happen with it the first time around: stuff about how they interacted with the original show, the decisions about the music etc. I don’t know yet if I’ll search out fanworks, perhaps it’s more likely to be fanvids than fanfiction is my feeling at present.
So, I’ve now seen the miniseries and it reverts to more normal episode lengths and seasons from no on, I presume.
Also, last night I realised I could watch The Avengers (Peel and Steed era) on the ITV Hub. It’s daffy and for the time when the brain isn’t up for engaging with BSG. Obviously, there was a poigniancy to watching it so soon after Diana Rigg’s death. But her Emma Peel is marvellous and plays off McNee’s Steed beautifully.

Scorpion season 2 - disc 3
Sep. 13th, 2020 03:21 pmI’d only seen the end of all these episodes, thus missing out on the build-up within episodes and all that had come before (e.g. getting to know Megan and what she meant to Walter and Sly.)

Sep. 12th, 2020 10:15 amI’ve been reposting some ficlets to Dreamwidth and AO3 the last couple of days, one Dark Angel gen, baby’s first Sky High ficlets: two featuring Warren/Layla pining and one gen fic from Principal Power’s POV. I’ve still got a pile of fics to repost whenever I have the bandwidth. Trying to work out what I was thinking when it came to formatting and titles of documents in 2006 was a challenge..
Last night, I took advantage of the fact the BBC now has Battlestar Galactica on the iPlayer and I can watch that on my telly and watched the first part of the miniseries. I’m in – I thought I would be, but I was also curious, because I come at it having read some novelisations of the original series (don’t judge), not being able to see it when it first aired, but having picked up a lot by fannish osmosis.

The Beeb has got Battlestar Galactica! Good timing as this series ends.
I’m a bit miffed, but not surprised, given everything, that Mulan has gone to Disney’s streaming service, and you’d have to pay extra to see it. Mark Kermode said in his review that it was a film for the big screen. I did want to see it, but then if it had been released in the cinema right now, I couldn’t have gone...
