shallowness

In July 2007, I wanted to commemorate having 500 posts memorised on my Livejournal. So, I wrote five ficlets, none rated higher than PG. See below for title, fandom and other details. The overall title and theme for the collection comes from the ER episode, 'Photographs and Memories'.

Photographs and Memories three: greet the day
Harry Potter (book canon, but with a nod to the movies), Universal. 504 words. Luna, gen. Spoilers for Deathly Hallows, but set during Chamber of Secrets.

Sky High, Universal. 146 words. Warren, gen. Set post movie.

Photographs and Memories five: dressed in our finest scarlet and gold
Harry Potter, PG. 432 words. Angelina, (Angelina/Fred). Angst. Set post Deathly Hallows.

Years and years ago, when I started a post containing links to all the fanfiction posted here, I dated it somewhere in the far future. That day is now today. I've had to tick the sticky box (because that was beyond me way back when in the early days of getting Dreamwidth) so that it remains the first thing you see.

To the movies!

At the cinema: Mr. Burton, and I really enjoyed it. I only knew scattered facts about Richard Burton’s life (only finding out how he came to have his surname thanks to promo for this film) and haven’t seen much of his work. ( Read more... )

I meant to post this earlier, but I've been busy with family stuff and wanted to prioritise posting about The West Wing. Last week, I got an e-mail from Dreamwidth saying,

'Your account has been randomly selected to receive someone's payment through our

So, I've got a paid account for a year. (I never got one here because IIRC there was an issue with PayPal and the last time I looked it seemed very complicated for me to pay from the UK, so I lived with 15 icons.) This means more icons - so I've also been distracted by uploading old ones I used here and at LJ - and maybe polls.

I’ve been reposting some ficlets to Dreamwidth and AO3 the last couple of days, one Dark Angel gen, baby’s first Sky High ficlets: two featuring Warren/Layla pining and one gen fic from Principal Power’s POV. I’ve still got a pile of fics to repost whenever I have the bandwidth. Trying to work out what I was thinking when it came to formatting and titles of documents in 2006 was a challenge..

Last night, I took advantage of the fact the BBC now has Battlestar Galactica on the iPlayer and I can watch that on my telly and watched the first part of the miniseries. I’m in – I thought I would be, but I was also curious, because I come at it having read some novelisations of the original series (don’t judge), not being able to see it when it first aired, but having picked up a lot by fannish osmosis.
