I meant to post this earlier, but I've been busy with family stuff and wanted to prioritise posting about The West Wing. Last week, I got an e-mail from Dreamwidth saying,
'Your account has been randomly selected to receive someone's payment through our
sponsor-a-free-user program.'
So, I've got a paid account for a year. (I never got one here because IIRC there was an issue with PayPal and the last time I looked it seemed very complicated for me to pay from the UK, so I lived with 15 icons.) This means more icons - so I've also been distracted by uploading old ones I used here and at LJ - and maybe polls.

So, there I was, starting to type up this post and, to cut a long story short, my charger went kaput. That’s 24 hours-plus without the internet at home! Obviously, it has been resolved (phew) and it wasn’t necessary to buy a new laptop, although that day is drawing nearer as it’s one thing after another with Buzz (my laptop is called Buzz) and I got it in over seven and a half years ago, which probably makes it geriatric in computing years.
Anyway, I can now post about Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Episode 3.06, I think
And then in the ad break, I discovered The Good Wife was back on More 4. Mainly I'm miffed I didn't know before the event. I think I’ll stick to watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine live, even though now they’re down to one show a week, B99 only fills a half-hour slot and would be easier to catch up on, but series 6 of TGW was so dire, and I’m kind of just watching to see guest stars turn up rather than caring what Alicia does next...
Anyway
misbegotten made me scrumptious DS9 icons over at
oraclegreen featuring Jadzia, Kira and Odo.

Mar. 29th, 2014 07:47 amAgents of SHIELD 1.13 T.R.A.C.K.S.
I am definitely going to make a point of watching this on big TV sets, it helps me get into the sweep of the action. While it wasn’t as good as last week, it was fine and ( spoilers )
On the future Agents of SHIELD casting spoiler ( spoiler )
I then caught up with Parks and Recreation
3.12 The Fight
3.14 Road Trip

Clearing the decks
Aug. 24th, 2013 08:37 amYesterday, I finally posted all the fic that I’d posted to Dreamwidth to Archive Of Our Own. Yay! It only took me years to do so. If I were going to archive my fic elsewhere, I might not be as determined to post everything there. This still means that I need to repost fic that was only posted at lj and ff.net (and Geocities, it’s that old) to both DW and AO3. It will probably also take ages, but I’ll warn if I get a burst of energy and start spamming.
For now, here are some links that I found interesting, most of which are Internet old. ( Georgette Heyer quote icons; The Hour meta; The Lizzie Bennet Diaries pics; Much Ado about Nothing interview; Pacific Rim meta; Paradox talk and a list about the awesomeness of Farscape. )

discussing icons and Glorious 39
Aug. 18th, 2013 03:33 pmThis week, I decided to treat myself and buy more Livejournal icons, but after immediately bringing back a bunch of old ones I missed, I have a few gaps to fill. I’m umming and ahhing over resuscitating one or two further ones, but I also don’t want to have placeholders that I’ll replace when shows like Downton Abbey come back.
However, I desperately want an icon/icons of people from something that I love being happy/amused/laughing. Since I started watching it, I’ve wished there were more The Mindy Project icons out there to pick from. I don’t understand why there are so few: it’s a colourful show with far from ugly people pulling funny faces. I know it hasn’t been massive in fandom, but still.
Anyway, if anyone would like to rec icon makers who they love, please do so!
I caught up on the penultimate episode of Top of the Lake on Friday, but last night sat down to watch Glorious 39 on DVD, mistimed it and didn’t watch the final episode of TotL. I will watch it when I get the time and nerve (I’m more worried about being spoiled offline) and post about both episodes.
As for Glorious 39
( spoilers, six degrees of British actors, shallowness )
