I watched Up the Women (episode 3) on Wednesday and ( spoilers )

Also that night I rewatched an Arrested Development episode that featured Jane Lynch, Julia Louis Dreyfuss and Amy Poelher as guest performers. I thought that was notable.

And then, courtesy of musesfool, I saw Ryan Hansen’s vid responding to all the Kickstarter awesomeness that’s getting the Veronica Mars movie to be made and allowing him to reprise Dick Casablancas. Even if you don’t care about VM, it's wortth watching. It surely made him win at the interwebs the day he posted it.

I watched this because the third episode is meant to be better. It had better be given that, like in the first episode, a lot of the humour is very creaky sitcom set-ups and the rest borders on Carry On Politely Requesting Votes for Women ( spoilers )

I went to see Iron Man 3 a second time yesterday, and I'm glad that it was the second time, otherwise that audience would have irritated me far more. I wouldn't be surprised if the child behind us who was clearly well under 12 and had a tantrum had nightmares after some of the stuff that goes on in that film. Also phone screens were lit up everywhere. Also I may have scalded myself with coffee while sitting down. But the film itself was tremendous fun.

The Mindy Project occasionally mystified me because of American cultural references that I didn't quite get, and I'm almost happy about that. (I'm still feeling guilty for not giving the Anna and Issy show, if that its name, a chance, but some of the sketches sounded like not my thing.)

In conclusion, I did laugh, and that was good.

First, I find the BAFTA (TV) nominations mildly baffling. I mean, I haven't seen everything, so I'm hardly in a position to judge. They (the academy?) do seem to love Peter Capaldi and Olivia Coleman, which is totally understandable.

Catching up on TV shows shouldn't feel like such work. I'm caught up on Person of Interest, but as of last night, two episodes behind on Parks and Recreation, although a double bill of that slips down easily enough.
