shallowness: Margaret Hale of North and South adaptation sitting at desk writing (Margaret North and South writing)
I posted five ficlets yesterday: Doc Brown’s [Sky High, Medulla]/Career Pathway [Harry Potter, Luna, Flitwick]/The Pop-up Shop [Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, Mahoney]/”Hello?” [MCU, Darcy]/Still Learning [X-Men Alternate Timeline Movies, Hank] - here.

They were written during January, and are in movie fandoms (well, the Harry Potter one is more book canon). Four are definitely gen and one a bit cracky. Three were fills for ‘any, any’ prompts, which is all on my brain. One fandom was new, in that I wrote X-Men alternate movie timeline fic – I have strong feelings that there are many subtexts to the X-Men, and I suppose the newer movies are better at bringing out race and disability issues. I wrote that one at the start of the month and can’t remember where the OCs’ names came from. That and the Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium one have been posted at ff.net and AO3.

I thought this batch of recs would be done in two posts, but it's been so long in the doing that the list has grown. And I'm aware that with everyone gearing up for Christmas/Yuletide, it's far from brilliant timing. Fanfiction and fanvid recs in the following fandoms: Alice (Sy-Fy), Community, Cormoran Strike, Dead Like Me, Firefly, Gotham and Harry Potter.

Bodyguard episode 1

No references to the Whitney Houston film that I noticed. )

As for the Beeb's other autumn dramas, quickly trailed, I think I'll need to know more about them.

Yesterday, I posted Audition Managed. Harry Potter. Universal. Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Harry Potter. 700 words. Non-magical AU.
Summary: Hermione approaches auditioning for a film role very differently to how Ron and Harry do.

About that. )

Agents of SHIELD 5.16 Honeymoon

I sat down to watch Agents of SHIELD begrudgingly Sunday night. ‘I am not watching Poldark for this and Gotham has been way more entertaining of late’ begrudgingly. But it was quite enjoyable.

On Saturday, I posted two ficlets: Nowhere Else To Turn. Gotham. PG. Selina Kyle, (Selina/Bruce). Double drabble. Expanding on a moment in 4.10 ‘Things That Go Boom’.

Cherimoya. Harry Potter. Teen. Neville + ? (see Notes at the bottom). 500 words. Summary: Neville's trust is rewarded. Written for the prompt: ‘Any, any/any, blindfold.’ at [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic.

The idea for ‘Nowhere Else to Turn’ came whilst I watched the episode and I wrote the first draft along with my post about the episode. I was determined for it to be a double drabble, so I redrafted it a lot.

I think that influenced how quickly I wrote and posted ‘Cherimoya’. I got the idea when I saw the prompt, wrote the first draft the morning after, which was over 400 words, the second over 500 – it needed to be a drabble or a drabble multiple so I sanded it down, as it were, the same morning.

Those were not the fics I expected to be posting next.

There may be more spring clear out fic, although I’m busier than I was over Easter and I’m also writing new fanfiction like:
Tender Loving Care Harry Potter. Universal. Neville Longbottom/Hannah Abbott. 379 words.

Would anyone be interested in beta reading a Gotham Bruce/Selina fic inspired by 4.01? It’s just over 1,000 words long and I feel the need for someone else to have a look at it.

I started a process of posting two ficlets on Saturday, and finished it just now.

A Perfect Cup of Tea Marvel Cinematic Universe/Agents of SHIELD, Peggy Carter, Jemma Simmons. 90 words. This was written and posted very quickly. The theme of the day the prompt was posted was ‘30 words’, so I wrote three times that. IS it a crossover?

The Way to A Witch's HeartHP. Ginny/Neville ER, set after DH, but ignoring the epilogue. 169 words.
Summary: The way to a witch’s heart is not that different from the way to a man’s heart.
This has been knocking about for a while (i.e. I don’t know when I first wrote it. The gag was always there. I think.) I had a look at it last autumn and thought it was postable, but other fic demanded my attention first. I smoothed it out on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
