The Mentalist has returned, which I found out by happy accident, really. I caught up on 6.9 My Blue Heaven via Demand 5 (do you see what they’re doing with the titles? I thought they’d decided to do what they did in 6.8 because of TPTB, but now I’m thinking the writers’ room had run out of red-tinged titles.) For once, the midseason break was well timed – normally it irritates me so much I just wish British channels would push the starting date for showing the new season back a la More 4 with The Good Wife.

It looks as though I will have decent internet access over these holidays, for the first time ever. And so, I have been trying to catch up and I hope to be able to watch all the (few) Christmas specials that I want to. Not to mention post end of year things at the end of the year.

The last aired episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD 1.10 The Bridge is not available on 4OD (I’d assumed it would be available for more than a week as most shows are on 4OD). The truth is that that only evinces a shrug and a ‘maybe I’ll look for a recap’. So I did, and I know what happened, and I may twirl about some theories in my mind over the break.

One of the things that I've been doing over the past few weeks, but haven't written about is continuing to catch up on Smallville season 4 on DVDs. I keep meaning to get my thoughts in order (here's a forestaste, the words 'silly' and 'pretty' may be uses), but I don't have time this morning and my thoughts really aren't in order.

Last night, I watched that episode of The Mentalist with the dead diamond-cutter ( spoilers ) I probably wrote most of that when first reviewing the show.

As for what I learned in the breaks: I am confused as to whether truly new episodes of Castle are being aired on whichever of five's channels it is BUT I learned that Person of Interest is coming back next week. Given the timeslot, I expect I'll mainly be watching it on five on demand. Still, Batman on TV! Finding out what happens next!!

I was very surprised that this was the finale, as the announcer told us, frankly, until I worked out that I’d forgotten to catch up on 5.21 (and the truth is, I was almost not bothered enough to bother).

Sadly, Demand five is still not showing the whole of these episodes - it's cutting out during the final (as far as I know) scene. It's really annoying.
